The Concept of “A Good End” according to Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, (may Allah have mercy on him)

The essence of achieving “A Good End” does not lie in dying while in the mosque, on the prayer mat, or with the Quran in front of you. This is because: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the best of creation, passed away while lying on his bed.

-His companion, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), the best of companions, also passed away on his bed.

-Khalid ibn Al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him), who was honored with the title “Sword of Allah” by the Prophet, fought in nearly 100 battles for the sake of Allah without losing any, yet he too passed away on his bed.

Instead, achieving “a good end” means:

-Being free from associating partners with Allah.

-Being free from hypocrisy.

-Being disassociated from innovators, innocent of all innovations.

-Remaining firm upon the Book and the Sunnah, believing in them without deviation.

-Being free from any harm to the blood, wealth, or honor of Muslims, while fulfilling the rights of Allah upon you and the rights of His servants.

-Having a pure heart, sincere intentions, good morals, and harboring no ill feelings such as grudges, envy, or malice towards Muslims.

-Performing your obligatory prayers punctually and in congregation.

(O Allah, grant us a good end in all matters.)Ameen
